Forced morality

When people attempt to use government to force certain behaviors, restrict behaviors or impose taxes on citizens on the grounds of morality then the argument is already lost. If a program can't be properly funded voluntarily and must use the implicit threat of force that a government program brings then the program is not the will of the people but is the imposed will of the ruling elite.

All government taxes or statutes carry the implicit threat of violence if not adhered to and therefore any government program is funded under the threat of force. When a politician calls a government fiscal policy "mean" they are trying to force their values on all citizen and threatening those who oppose with violence or incarceration.

You behaviors that don't violate others rights are up to you. The government doesn't have the right to threaten citizens with violence or incarceration for not behaving in line with the elite's idea of morals. If citizens are willing to volunteer their time or money for it then it is not supported and should not proceed.
