Each day I wake up and read the news headlines and each day I can't believe the world in which we now live. It is as if there is a battle raging between the Wallace clan (Braveheart), those just yearning to live free, and Napoleon (Animal Farm not Bonaparte), the crafty leader of the animal rebellion on the farm who breaks all his own rules.
This week's wackiness that makes me wish there were undiscovered lands the Wallace clan could move to and start over without the Napoleons.
These are just a few examples but it seems that the basic rule of correlation doesn't equal causation hasn't been learned by the left. Correlation doesn't equal causation is best exemplified by Christmas, an increase in shopping prior to Dec 25 is a perfect correlation to explain that Christmas only occurs on Dec 25 because of all the shopping that precedes it but of course this is not true, Christmas comes whether people shop or not. There is a correlation between shopping before Christmas and the holiday but the shopping does not cause it.
In this case the lefties believe that because smart people go to university that if we just send everybody to university they will become smart. Of course this couldn't be true, it is just that when test scores mattered only the smart people went to university, it wasn't their attendance at university that made them smart. This mistake is repeated over and over again by the lefties with taxes, healthcare, welfare and equality. (See my post on rights vs. privileges for a more detailed look)
I just can't believe that so many self proclaimed smart people could be so ignorant. If they are not ignorant that can only mean that they are malevolent or just evil. My first instinct is to move away from these evil lefties which in a way I have, I live in Asia, but I know they are hell bent on world domination so it would be better to just defeat them.
I am a big fan of Stefan Molyneux and I believe that it's better to duel with ideas instead of swords but from what I have seen the left is too ignorant to win arguments with the ideas they have and too stubborn to change their minds based on persuasive arguments of the center and the right. Therefore I believe an armed conflict is coming, I fear it, I fear the outcome, I fear the collateral damage but tragically that is the direction is looks like we are going.
