The role of governments

The lefty liberals running news organizations and universities around the world have convinced themselves and intimidated a slew of others that charity is one of the roles of governments. The idea that government funds should be used to help the poor is a means to force all of society to  support charities or organizations that cannot get enough support without the help of the state.
