Conspiracy Theory vs. Reasonable Suspicion

When is suspicion of the government or mainstream a conspiracy theory and when is it reasonable suspicion? We hear so often that questioning official narratives such as Seth Rich’s murder was a botched robbery is a conspiracy theory while believing in Putin placing Trump in the White House is a reasonable suspicion to have, how does reasonable suspicion become a conspiracy theory? Who decides? And most importantly what are the implications?
First let me state that I am not a trusting person by nature. I believe that people will do what is in their self interest to do without regard for the impact to others. A large part of why I believe this has to do with the places I have lived and the rampant corruption I have witnessed, government corruption large and small.
With that being said let’s take a look at a few examples of what are generally called conspiracy theories and what are deemed to be reasonable suspicions according the mainstream.
Conspiracy Theories:
UFO’s
Seth Rich murder
Illegal immigrant voting in US presidential elections
Reasonable Suspicion:
Putin directed Trump's 2016 presidential campaign
The NRA is the primary cause of US school shootings
Tax cuts disproportionately help the rich
After a little bit of digging and clear thinking it's quite easy to see that all of these assumptions are incorrect.
Taking a closer look we can see things more clearly. For example UFO's, the classic conspiracy theory. Recently it was revealed that the US military spent 22m USD on UFO research and the clip below from Tucker Carlson Tonight shows video from the research that shows unidentified flying objects. I don't know if these are aliens but they are not identifiable for sure. What does that mean? It clearly means that UFO's are not a conspiracy theory but a reasonable suspicion that advanced technology exists on earth that we can't explain and could well be alien.
Next we look at the Seth Rich murder. Seth Rich was murdered in what police say was a botched robbery where the murders were seen casually walking away, very cool and collected for botched robbers. At the same time Julian Assange and Kim Dotcom have acted in ways that indicate that Seth was the WikiLeaks source for the DNC emails. Additionally, while Seth was supposedly the victim of a random robbery the police went to Seth's home and took his laptop for evidence. Both the DC police and the FBI now both don't know where the laptop is being held. Not really a stretch to say that it wasn't a robbery...
Democrats in the US are consistently against voter ID laws because they say that they put undue constraints on low income citizens who don't have access to government issue IDs for welfare benefits and the right to marry, things that even low income voters do with regularity. Naturally the real reason Democrats don't want voting to require ID's is they have a massive voter fraud setup they don't want to stop. According to Just Facts, linked below, there is evidence of millions of illegal aliens voting in elections. Clearly it's not a conspiracy theory and is in fact just a fact. Those votes are going for Democrats so it's understandable that Democrats don't want to ensure only US citizens are voting.
As to the reasonable suspicion fallacies, there is no evidence that Russia or Putin impacted the election one bit. If Russia paid for Facebook ads that is just fine, information is free and the best ideas need to be able to win out in the market place of ideas. When restrictions are put on broadcasting ideas that is how propaganda and lies spread as lies are able to prevent truth to be heard through fallacious argumentation.
Now for the NRA. The NRA is a lobby organization and gun advocacy group. The NRA organizes riffle clubs and marksmanship contests, gun safety training, etc. At the same time the NRA advocates for protection of the S 2nd amendment to bear arms. Gun control advocates say citizens don't need military grade weapons or weapons of war. Sadly this is incorrect, they 2nd amendment says that the US government can't prevent you from creating your own private army to protect yourself from the tyranny of the US government. Military grade weapons are vital to maintaining those militias or private armies. It's also appropriate to note that the vast majority of criminals that use guns to commit crimes are not NRA members so it is an erroneous argument to conclude that the NRA supports criminals that commit crimes as we have seen in other countries that have strict gun laws that there are more mass shootings and violent crimes than in the US. The US is just 11th in mass shootings and there are more knife murders than rifle murders, so unless the NRA is behind the knife murders as well this is just a conspiracy theory concocted by the leftist to take guns away from anyone who might want to disagree with the US government.
Lastly, tax cuts disproportionately benefit the rich. Well this one is easy, taxes in general disproportionately benefit the middle and upper middle classes and disadvantage the poor so it's reasonable to assume that tax cuts will disadvantage the middle and upper middle classes. Milton Friedman has a great talk on this point with social security and the minimum wage as well.
The rich, top 1% pay nearly 50% of federal income tax in the US and the top 20% pay 95% of all taxes so any tax cut is going to help them more than people who don't pay any taxes at all. At the same time we know that the taxes paid by poor people end disproportionately benefiting richer people so I would put in the conspiracy theory bucket rather than reasonable suspicion bucket.
So there you have it, down is up and up is down in the leftist world.
